Why are your snacks more nutritious than typical snacks?
We begin with raw, unprocessed, sustainably sourced nuts and seeds that set a foundation for our healthy snacks. We then soak them to eliminate the bitter and undigestible elements (called activating). Next, we slowly dehydrate without the high temperatures associated with baking or roasting to remove water and restore crunch without altering the healthy fats inherent to nuts and seeds. This process not only unlocks their nutritional value, but also their flavor profile. We go above and beyond here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina so you get the most extraordinary snack possible.

Do all Extraordinary Snack products contain nuts?
Currently, all of our snack foods are produced in a facility that handles both nuts and seeds. Most of our products are nut-based. We do carry a few nut-free products that are produced separately following an allergen-friendly process under food safety guidelines. We do not handle peanuts or any type of grains.

If you’re allergic to tree nuts (including walnuts, pecans, cashews, Brazil nuts, almonds, and coconuts), we recommend avoiding our products.

Are your products gluten-free?
Absolutely! We never use any types of grains, fillers or gluten in our products.

Are your snacks sugar-free?
While we don’t use refined sugar in our products, we do rely on small amounts of agave, maple sugar, coconut nectar, and dates for sweetness, as well as the natural sugars present in the fruits and vegetables we use. Thus, our products have a lower glycemic index, but they are not sugar-free.

Are any of your products “raw”?
This one’s tricky. When making our snacks, we use raw, unprocessed ingredients including raw nuts. To assure safety, we dehydrate our batches at temperatures above 118°F (which means we cannot label our products as raw) but lower than 150°F.

You mention your products are “clean” food. What does that mean?
While there are several definitions, “clean foods” generally means healthy, whole foods that are minimally processed, nutrient-dense (no empty calories), and free of refined sugars, additives, and artificial ingredients.

How should your snacks be stored?
Most of our resealable packaging includes a clear lining with a PET barrier to protect your stash from unwanted moisture, which makes it perfect for snacks on the go. For longer storage, we recommend storing any nuts or seeds in a glass jar or other airtight container and keeping them in the refrigerator or freezer. Crackers & crisps come in a sleeve that is not resealable and not airtight, and we strongly suggest storing any uneaten product in a glass jar in a cool, dry place.

Crackers and crisps bought in bulk come packaged for freezer storage, allowing for portioning over time.

How long do your snacks last?
If you’re like most people, you’ll devour our goodies long before their “best by” date. But just in case, or if you purchase in bulk:

Where can I find your products?
Currently, our products are available by pre-order and pick-up at Cobblestone Market, located at 1001 S. Marshall Street SW, Winston-Salem, NC. The Market is open Saturday from 8:30 am to 12 pm. Sign-up for email or join us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on where you can purchase our products locally.

Do you ship products nationally?
All of our orders require 2 to 3 days to process. We ship all of our orders to those in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and beyond through UPS or USPS, and you should receive all non-perishable orders within 6 to 8 business days from the date you place your order.

For raw desserts, we need 2 to 3 days to process these orders before shipping. We ship these orders between Mondays and Wednesdays only. Second-day or overnight orders will not be delivered on Saturday unless you select Saturday delivery. We do NOT consider Saturday a business day. If you place an order on Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday, we will process your order the next business day. Any items ordered together may be shipped separately.

We do not ship to P.O. Boxes (except for books), APOs, or FPOs. We cannot guarantee when an order will arrive. Consider any shipping or transit time offered to you by us as only an estimate. We encourage you to order in a timely fashion to avoid delays caused by shipping or product availability. We will not be responsible for spoilage of perishable items if recipient is not available to receive the package.

Are your products available for wholesale purchase?
Due to high demand, we do not offer products wholesale at this time.

Are your products and quality guaranteed?
Your satisfaction remains our highest priority. If something isn’t right with your order, we want to hear about it! Please send a detailed description of your product and issue to erica@extraordinarysnackco.com. Be sure to include your name, contact information, and the date you picked up your order.
